DESCRIPTION
A very scarce edition of the H.M.S. Newcastle Magazine, 1954-55, celebrating the return of the crew and ship from the Far East after an eighteen month trip. With a forward by the Vice Admiral Elkins, and a message from the Captain.
With articles about the people and places they went, including Singapore, Malaya, and their Christmas in Hong Kong. The magazine also includes a charming letter by their ship dog Buster, songs and poems and a play.
With a photograph of the crew, loosely inserted in the magazine.
CONDITION
In the original paper wraps. Externally, smart. A slight fold down the front board, with a minor mark also. Light fading to the front joint and top of board, and to the rear joint and top of the rear board, due to sunning. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout.
