About TAMARUSAN:
Founded by sisters Yukiko and Mikako Tamaru, TAMARUSAN specializes in accessories that encapsulate hand-drawn illustrations, embroidery, beads, and various materials within transparent resin. Each resin part is paired with custom-made metal fittings and combined with natural stones, glass beads, felt, ribbons, and more to create original accessories. Every piece is handcrafted, resulting in slight variations even within the same design. Our concept focuses on creating boutiques accessories that transcend age and gender, offering a sense of beauty and presence that we ourselves would love to wear.
Manufacturing Process:
Designing Resin Parts: We rarely draw design sketches on paper; instead, we design while crafting. However, when creating base designs for metal or resin parts, we produce detailed specifications for specialized craftsmen.
Creating Resin Prototypes: We envision the desired shape and have skilled artisans carve prototypes from hard stones like agate or onyx. These prototypes are used to create silicone molds.
Making Silicone Molds: Silicone is poured over the stone prototypes to create molds. Each mold is typically used 3-4 times to maintain quality.
Casting Resin: The resin mixture is carefully poured into the molds, incorporating design elements like printed paper or beads. Curing time varies with temperature, taking 1-3 days.
Finishing Resin Parts: Once cured, the resin parts are removed from the molds, revealing vibrant, original pieces ready for assembly.
Crafting Metal Fittings: Metal parts are shaped using gas burners, then polished and sent for plating. We offer various finishes, including antique gold, silver, copper, 24K gold, and rhodium plating.
Assembly: The resin and metal parts are assembled, complemented by natural stones or beads that best match the series. This process brings the entire design concept to life.
