Here we have the 1958 1st edition/1st printing of THE COMPLETE LETTERS OF VINCENT VAN GOGH published in three volumes by the New York Graphic Society and printed in the Netherlands. Youll cut your own ear off to get this beautiful set on your shelf! I mean just look at that SHINY gold landscape spread across the three volumes. As I am writing this listing I keep looking over at my shelf just to admire it.All three volumes are jam packed with illustrations and tipped-in plates to accompany the letters.

Volumes 2 and 3 are in VERY GOOD condition with some shelf wear and were protected by mylar covers when I found them. Volume 1 is in GOOD condition with a bit more shelf wear and a wrinkle in the spine. The front and back hinges were cracked and beginning to separate when I found volume 1 and it looks like someone attempted to tape them together as there are strips of discoloration on the front and back endpapers.Additionally, the previous owner appears to have stamped their name along the top page edge of volume 1 and someone (not me I promise) attempted to sandpaper it off.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I used bookbinder approved LINECO PVA glue to reinforce and repair both back and front hinges/endpapers as the mull looked to be undamaged. Ifyou dont like amateur repairs to your antiquarian books and prefer to pay professionals eye-watering sums then PLEASE DONT BUY THESE.

I believe these originally came with a slipcase which is no longer with us. RIP slipcase.?
