Offering a very fine hand carved soapstone Sculpture--Peacock with a lush background of florals and leaves.

The detail is amazing! The peacock is actually "biting" a leaf. Each feather is delineated, and the petals of the flower (chrysanthemum?) are crisp and distinct. Each leaf and branch is masterfully articulated.

This piece is very sculptural. The artist has skillfully created a three dimensional space, having great depth.

The soapstone sculpture is a beautiful soft celadon green. The base is a dark brown, almost aubergine, soapstone. The base is also beautifully carved with three cabriole feet.

This soapstone is in very good vintage condition. Minimal wear commensurate with age and gentle use.

Measurements are, 7 1/4" in full height, 4 1/2" across, and 2 1/4" deep.

Once the item is purchased, it will be shipped promptly within three business days of receiving cleared payment.

We ship Monday through Friday.

We generally ship USPS Priority Mail, Parcel Post or Fed Ex. If the item fits in a Manila envelope, it will be shipped First Class.

We wrap all our items very carefully. If items are damaged in transit, we will provide the necessary paperwork for the buyer to file a claim. In order for a claim to be filed, buyer must keep all original packaging and take photos of the damaged item(s).

Payment must be received within three days at the latest.
